Build & Wish Voluntary Team

 A.   Purposes:

 1.     To introduce an innovative and effective approach in promoting the employment of the home assistance (ladies with limited job opportunities) [Group A] together with the people with disabilities and mental illness [Group B] in pairs.

2.     With the smooth establishment and training via the home cleaning exercise of this working group in pairs, the implementation of the works with the public (as a social enterprise) will be implemented to allow the job opportunities for the paired group as a whole under a separate Social Enterprise to be managed by Build & Wish Voluntary Team. This system would in turn, facilitate the social welfare groups, government bodies and private companies to provide chance for any one-off, short term or long term employment to these group with our effective management.

 B.   Operation:

3.     With the training experience we have gained in the first stage of the Home Cleaning Project kindly sponsored by Shih Wing Ching Foundation before pandemic, we have also reached and obtained initial excellent feedback from the social welfare groups for ladies (Group A), MI, MR and other physical disabilities (Group B) who are long for seeking part time and full time job opportunities. The pressure from the users and the pressure from the people with some degree of disabilities/mental illness would be much reduced based on this paired-up scheme.

4.     We would provide training, and voluntary supervisor(from Build & Wish Voluntary Team) for each paired up A+B team so as to ensure the smooth and effective operation of each case. For needy would be matched with a particular A+B team for the coming 1 year cleaning tasks to ensure they are building up trust and relationship among each other. The voluntary supervisor would carry out the first visit with that paired team for any new case. Again, the Group A (ladies) is also functioned to provide caring on top of the cleaning and supervision of the Group B works.

5.     The whole project would involve the cooperation with some 20-30 social welfare groups of 18 districts to mobilize Group A and Group B resources with their supervision for smooth operation.

 6.     Apart from general home cleaning exercise, we would gradually implement the great feature of cleaning of windows with special tools to ensure no work from height risk be allowed.
